When I lost my job in 2007 I was completely down and out. I went knocking on so many doors just to find out that they too had closed their doors permanently.

I started getting involved in my community, where I did activities for the children and the elderly. This is where I met a Community Worker from the Stellenbosch Municipality, who informed me about the New Venture Creation Learnership from the Services SETA. At first I was very reluctant and questioned myself many times. As to how would I be able to manage my own business, but as they say the writing is on the wall.

This learnership from the SETA that was presented by EBS completely changed my life, my way of thinking and the way I look at and approach others. After I completed the course I applied for funding at the Cape Winelands Municipality and qualified for SEED funding. Today I am the very proud owner of an Events ¬†Management business (Organised Occasions). I have been operating for just over a year and I am growing day by day. Some of my clients includes: SEDA (Small Enterprise Development Agency), NGO’s such as The Caregivers Foundation and Arise and Shine as well as the provincial department of Health, etc.

I believe that there is no way that anyone would be able to turn back once they have completed this course and especially with trainers such as those of the  EBS team, you can only go from strenght to strength.
